If you traveling with India, here is a consolidated list of Airline booking portals for you. Many of them will in fact let you book hotels, and rental cars as well.

I thinkl you have left out a very useful travel search engine – http://www.ixigo.com – iXiGO searches directly on all the airline websites and provides the most comprehensive, accurate and unbiased search.
Do check it out and add it to your list.
would like to bring to your notice like Prannoy did, ixigo.com has been very efficient with their fare search, they offer the cheapest fare of all portal and is very simple to use.
Thanks for the link to ixigo.com. I had a look at it recently and its quite good.
